Can You Wear White to a Wedding if You're Not the Bride?

Somewhere along the line, it was marked down in the rule book of weddings that only the bride can wear white to the wedding. There seem to be similar "rules" about wearing black or red (unless it's a Chinese wedding). The best way to deal with the question is to ask the bride!

Some brides don't care what color your outfit is as long as you join the festivities. Some brides aren't even wearing white, so what do they care if you do. If you're a family member or friend of the groom or don't have direct contact with the bride, then have someone who knows her ask her for you.

If all else fails on getting an answer directly from the source, then don't wear white, black or red.

Create Favor Trees

GetMarried.com recently featured an idea that I thought was worth sharing with all of you. It suggested using favor trees to display your favor bags and even to use as decorations for tables.

It's relatively easy to do. All you have to do is buy or make your own trees with branches and a pot. You can hang organza favor bags from the branches of the trees and place them on the gift table, cake table or use them as centerpieces on your guest tables.

If you'd rather not use organza or other favor gift bags, you can tie ribbons to your favors and use the ribbon to hang the favors on the trees.
